Introducing Tether

The battleground for people’s hearts lies with their daily attention.

For over a year we’ve been hard at work developing and refining a suite of tools for the modern church, and at Tether we’re thrilled to launch these platforms more broadly today.

Tether is built on a simple premise: we must find a way to embody vulnerability, accountability, and orthodox spiritual practice in the 21st century. It is no understatement to say that the modern Church needs, more than ever, to rediscover the practices of old that have led to spiritual maturity.

Richard Foster prophetically wrote in 1973, “Superficiality is the curse of our age. The doctrine of instant satisfaction is a primary spiritual problem. The desperate need today is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people.”

We believe that deep people are formed through small, in-person groups practicing life together consistently. We also believe in the redemptive power of technology as a tool to inspire spiritual depth and connection with others.

Andy Crouch, an advisor to Tether writes, “Tether puts local relationships and embodied practices where they belong — at the center of our lives — supporting them with smart tech and elegant design.
